Writer/Photographer
Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a full-time writer/photographer to write content for college publications and publicity, edit and proofread content created by others, and take and format photos.
Responsibilities include writing news releases, newsletter articles, feature stories and content requested by external organizations; conducting research and interviewing individuals both inside and outside of the college; taking and/or formatting photos of students, employees and college activities; and verifying, proofreading and/or editing content for the college website, catalog and other publications.
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications or other relevant field; two years of related work experience in journalism, communications and photography; excellent writing, editing and computer skills; familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and photography equipment; strong written and oral communication, organizational and human relations skills; and a valid driver’s license.
Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of AP writing style.
This is a full-time position with excellent fringe benefits. The regularly scheduled hours of work are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some evening and weekend hours.
