Sales Representative
This position is responsible for the marketing of products and services provided by Hinkle Contracting Company. Within assigned territory and developing new markets while expanding current customer base. This is a skilled position requiring the effective management of concrete sales with exceptional service to our customers. This position will report directly to the General Manager of Triple Crown Concrete and will serve the Richmond, Lexington, and Winchester market.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
-Sell products to business and industrial establishments or individuals utilizing knowledge of the product sold;
-Increase sales volume for products and services, while maintaining sales expense budget;
-Building and maintaining a customer base covering a territory assigned;
-Track product inventory to ensure adequate supply of product is available to meet customers' needs;
-Compiles a list of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from a variety of sources;
-Develop and maintain profiles of customers and competitors;
-Monitor customer accounts to ensure prompt payment of goods and services;
-Coordinate product delivery if necessary;
-Manage administrative duties to include full detailed information (reports, status updates, etc.) meeting established deadlines and objectives;
-Develop and enhance skills and activities that increase effectiveness in sales presentations and professionalism through training;
-Analyze market potential, including competitive pricing, activities, market trends, and other relevant facts and report finding to the sales manager as required;
-Establish annual sales projections by product and recommend sales program to reach sales projections;
-Assist the sales manager and director of sales with the formulation of annual budget including sales forecasts;
-Keep up-to-date on product changes, selling strategies, competitive surveillance methods, expense control, etc.;
-Maintain continual vigilance over competitors' programs and pricing and include these observations in written reports as required to include price, product changes/improvement, terms of sales and service;
-Maintain proper product and service positioning in the marketplace to ensure maximum profit potential while maintaining maximum goodwill with customers;
-Act in an ethical manner, portray a positive company image and promote customer relations.
-Ensure daily, weekly and monthly reporting is accurate and timely.
-Responsible for product quality. Responsible for meeting customer, agency and job specific specifications.
-Responsible for setting, monitoring and communicating daily, weekly, monthly and annual goals for productivity, safety and compliance.
-Communicate with employees, direct reports, supervisors, peers, customers and the general public in a professional manner;
-Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant;
-A working knowledge of customer specifications required;
-Effective interpersonal and communication skills; building rapport, listening, presenting, giving and receiving feedback;
-High standard of ethics, integrity and trust.
-Must be available as needed during non-traditional work hours;
-Must be able to work independently and with groups;
-Must display a professional and courteous attitude toward co-workers, supervisors and general public at all times;
-Preparation of cost models for maintenance information for bidding;
-Identify immediate areas of concern; -Identify trends in the data and develop responses to them;
-Highly organized with strong time and process management skills; and
-All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-Bachelors or comparable discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-The role will require knowledge of the ready mix concrete industry with at least 3 years of experience
-Customer Records Management experience would be a plus, but not required.
-Must be well versed in Microsoft Office Suite;
-Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check;
-Pass a pre-employment "Fit for Work" physical;
-Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document;
-Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times;
-Report to work at the designated start time;
-Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required;
- Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary;
-Be able to work overtime when required;
-Maintain current driver's license that meets state requirements;
-Have a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company standards;
-Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold;
-Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook;
-Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist coworkers or supervisors with other duties as required;
-Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA;
