The Center for Rural Development (The Center), located in Somerset, Kentucky, invites applications for the position of Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium (RDPC) Instructional Design Specialist. The RDPC programs are actively involved in training for the Nation’s rural emergency responders and outreach services focused primarily on rural and tribal agencies throughout the US. The Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium (RDPC) Instructional Design Specialist designs and develops learning systems in alignment with concepts stipulated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Program Manager and organization goals and training needs. The position assists RDPC consortium members with modification of , course material, instructor manuals, communicates corrections, changes and/or new policies defined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security throughout the recertification process.
The position is responsible for the information sharing portal for the organization and web based training programs for RDPC including web based, web cast, and instructor led trainings. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, data base management, E-Learning systems, Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS), Digitization of Courses and XML, including reporting.
