Chaired Energy Engineering Faculty

 

Dartmouth’s Thayer School of Engineering seeks to fill a distinguished, senior-level, tenure-track chaired professorship in energy engineering. An outstanding candidate is sought with research interests that target disruptive innovations in energy-related technologies and consider the role of such innovations in transforming societal energy systems to be more resilient and sustainable.  The successful candidate will have a doctorate in engineering or a related, relevant scientific field and have an established record of thought leadership and externally-funded research at a level appropriate for an appointment at the rank of Full Professor. An outstanding candidate is sought with research interests that target disruptive innovations in energy systems and/or energy-related technologies and consider the role of such innovations in transforming societal energy systems to be more resilient and sustainable.  The successful candidate will have an interest in translating research to meet societal needs and also be a dedicated and effective teacher with motivation and expertise that complements the Thayer School's distinctive human-centered, interdisciplinary educational approach.

 

The Thayer School of Engineering is in the midst of a significant expansion of faculty and programs, and this distinguished chaired professor position will join a large and thriving cluster of researchers in energy collaborating across multiple disciplines at Dartmouth College. The successful candidate will be affiliated with the Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy and Society, created to leverage Dartmouth’s strengths in interdisciplinary teaching and learning, engineering, business, and sustainability by providing solutions to critical energy problems faced by communities and regions across the globe.
