PERMANENT LAW CLERK TO A SUPREME COURT JUSTICE
DIVISION: Supreme Court
CLASS DEFINITION: This class is accountable for conducting legal research, writing memoranda, reviewing draft opinions and assisting in preparing preliminary draft opinions for appeals presented before the Supreme Court.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the general supervision of a Supreme Court Justice.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: May lead/supervise lower level staff as assigned.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Performs legal research for a Justice of the Supreme Court, including analysis of the legal issues presented by the trial records and appellate briefs; upon request, prior to oral argument, provides bench memoranda which review issues and citations and reports on additional appropriate case law; upon request of a Justice of the Supreme Court, prepares memoranda of law for use in preparation of appellate opinion; as requested, reviews and prepares memoranda on substantive motions before the court; prepares motion memoranda including summaries of law on issues involved and assessments of the validity of the motions; reviews draft opinions; assists in preparing preliminary draft opinions; performs related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited law school.

The Connecticut Supreme Court is seeking a permanent law clerk to perform legal research, write memoranda, review draft opinions, and assist in preparing preliminary draft opinions in appeals before the Supreme Court.
Salary - $115,653 plus full state benefits.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited law school.
