DESCRIPTION
There are immediate openings for Full Time, Part time and per diem Licensed Behavioral Health Clinicians in our Community Based Services Treatment and Support Services program. Qualified and dedicated staff provide a range of assessment, counseling and crisis support services to youth with mental health and developmental issues in order to improve their health and well-being, and to maintain them in their homes and communities. Services are delivered in the youth's home, school or other community setting, and are always goal-directed based on the individual needs of that youth and family.
Positions are available in Albany, Columbia, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady counties, and surrounding areas.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Engage directly with youth and families to build a therapeutic, helping relationship.
- Provide clinical evaluation to assess for mental health, substance abuse and/or developmental issues
- Develop Treatment Plans which identify child and family strengths and needs and recommend counseling and rehabilitative support services to address underlying issues.
- Provide ongoing individual, group and family therapy.
- Provide 1-1 teaching, coaching and rehabilitative counseling to build the skills and capacities of a youth struggling with mental health and developmental challenges.
- Assist families to better understand and parent a child with mental health and developmental needs.
- Timely and accurately document the delivery of services in an electronic health record.
- Local travel to provide the services in the youth home, school or other community setting.
- Maintain a positive, strength-based approach at all times.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LMFT or Licensed Psychoanalyst.
- Experience working with SED/DD children preferred.
- Clean and valid NYS driver’s license.
- Must have reliable vehicle for transporting clients - with proof of insurance.
- Ability to work with developmentally disabled and/or mental health clients.
- Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate client schedules.
- Ability to relate to a culturally diverse population.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills.
