Queens College of the City University of New York invites applications for the position of Director of Professional Practice and Community Partnerships in the School of Education. The School of Education is home to many premier programs and scholars, and produces more education graduates who become principals, teachers, and counselors for New York City’s public schools than any other college in the metropolitan area.
Reporting directly to the Dean, the Director of Professional Practice and Community Partnerships will develop, oversee and monitor clinical experiences (e.g., early fieldwork and student teaching) embedded within curriculum education programs that lead to initial and professional certifications. The Director of Professional Practice and Community Partnerships will work closely with the Dean and the Director of Assessment and Accreditation to evaluate clinical experiences and program curriculum to ensure that they meet New York State and accreditation standards. This position requires in-person work at the College.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee the leadership and management of the Office of Field Placement.
- Manage the Teacher Opportunity Corp (TOC) II grand-funded program and supervise the TOC II coordinator.
- Serve as the primary liaison for the New York City Public School, Long Island School Districts, and Westchester School Districts and foster the cultivation of partnerships.
