We are accepting applications for a full-time position as Director, MSUCorps.
Responsibilities: Director of MSUCorps program is responsible on behalf of Morehead State University for developing and writing successful grant proposals; negotiating the resulting contract with the Corporation for the National Community and Service; administering the program in compliance with federal regulations and university policies and according to the goals and objectives as stated in the approved grant proposal; designing and implementing program evaluations; assessing and reporting the program outcomes, which have the primary purpose of increasing the academic achievement of at-risk school children of Eastern Kentucky; developing members, and forming partnerships with the University, and the Corporation for National and Community Service. The position directly supervises and trains all exempt and non-exempt staff and AmeriCorps members, develops budgets and authorizes budget expenditures.
Qualifications: Masters degree in education, sociology, psychology, social work or related area with at least two years of experience as a teacher, counselor, or administrator is required.
Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of computerized database information software is desirable. Previous experience in writing and managing grants is desired. Experience in community services programs and supervising volunteers is desirable. Experience in recruiting volunteers and training volunteers in tutoring, mentoring, and parental involvement is desirable.
