Inspector Housing Choice Voucher
Inspector needed to check rental units for structural soundness and physical conditions. Works closely with landlords, informing them of repairs that may be needed to meet federal, state and local guidelines. Performs inspections prior to tenants moving in after they move out and while they reside in the units. Should be able to demonstrate prior experience in working with all types of people, maintain composure under pressure and deal with many different situations. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of legal housing standards, real estate values and building maintenance requirements. This position will require the ability to meet governmental reporting deadlines, establish and maintain effective working relationships with tenants, landlords, and fellow employees. Requirements include the ability to detect defects and faults in construction, and familiarity with standard housing requirements. Must possess a valid Kentucky driver license and the capability to interpret blueprints and building specifications. High school diploma required and two or more years of real estate appraisal, building maintenance or construction experience needed. Beginning annual salary is $36,000.00, with an excellent benefits package.
