Skilled Trades Worker Senior - Carpentry (Division of Parks and Recreation)
SALARY
This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month, $0.52c/hour) upon hire and CDL pay ($1.08/hour) once obtained within the six (6) month probationary period.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to maintain, inspect, repair and install items relevant to a specific field of work including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry at all LFUCG facilities.
This position is a member of the division's carpentry crew charged with replacement of windows, doors, locks, floors, concrete, drywall, framing and cabinet level carpentry. In addition, this position is required to obtain and be certified as a playground safety inspector in order to audit the 63+ playground sites biannually.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent supplemented by, specialized courses/training that correlates to satisfactory completion of one (1) year of college education
- Four (4) years of related experience
- Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
- Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Schedules and prioritizes jobs; provides maintenance as needed on equipment, facilities, parks and other LFUCG properties, and, maintains records of work performed
- Troubleshoots problems as they arise to solve issues or concerns
- Conducts preventative and periodic maintenance to keep facilities in good working condition
- Obtains required permits as needed
- Estimates costs required for maintenance; monitors equipment and inventory to ensure there are a sufficient number of supplies and in good working order; requisitions materials and supplies
- Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
- Valid Driver's License to qualify
- Must obtain CDL Class B within the first six (6) months of employment
- Must obtain Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) from the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) within the first six (6) months of employment
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be available for on-call and call-back duty
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as assigned and on emergencies.
