Public Service Worker Senior (Division of Parks and Recreation)
SALARY
This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month, $0.52c/hour) upon hire; and, CDL pay ($1.08/hour) once obtained within the six (6) month probationary period.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to perform manual labor in relation to the general maintenance and repairs of LFUCG property such as facilities, equipment, grounds and city roads; and, lead or oversee a small work crew as needed.
These positions provide park services that may include athletic field preparation, trail maintenance, turf maintenance, playground maintenance, restroom cleaning, refuse collection, dog park maintenance, landscaping, event support, and repairing park amenities such as picnic tables and
fences.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Two (2) years of related experience
- Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs one or more of the following essential functions, depending on area of assignment:
- Provides grounds maintenance in all seasons
- Performs landscape and horticultural maintenance at multiple park locations
- Prunes, plants and waters shrubs, perennials, and trees
- Apply herbicide products on horticultural and park locations
- Operates light trucks and assorted power equipment
- Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on gardening and grounds equipment
- Performs general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, digging, and moving materials
- Cleans, maintains, services, and conducts minor repairs on buildings, facilities and equipment
- Assists with any other manual labor tasks as needed
- Leads or oversees a small work crew as needed
- Performs snow removal operations
- Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
All Certifications and Licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment
- Valid Driver's License is required to qualify
- Required to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B within the first six (6) months of employment
- Required to obtain appropriate Pesticide Applicator license from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture within the first twelve (12) months of employment
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be accessible for on-call duty and be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned and during emergencies.
- Positions are required to perform snow removal duties during weather emergencies.
