The minimum salary is $26.617 per hour
This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable.
Pay Grade 520
This position is eligible to receive hazardous duty supplemental pay at $90/month ($0.52 per hour) upon hire.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to lead in the inspection, repair and installation of heating, ventilation; air conditioning and refrigeration systems and related equipment as well perform preventive maintenance and perform routine servicing.
This position is a member of the Division's HVAC group that services over 75 sites with heating or air conditioning units for preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and installation of units.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Six (6) years of related experience
- Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
- Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supervises and evaluates the work of subordinates
- Performs skilled maintenance work in the repair and installation of HVAC equipment, components, timers, motors and wiring systems
- Conducts regular preventive maintenance inspections of refrigeration units, isolated heating and ventilating units
- Estimates costs required for maintenance; monitors equipment and inventory to ensure there are sufficient supplies and requisitions materials and supplies
- Maintain maintenance records and completes work orders
- Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Required to Qualify:
- Valid Driver's License
- Kentucky Journeyman HVAC License
- Universal EPA Refrigerant Technician Certification
Required within the first six (6) months of employment:
- Kentucky HVAC Master Contractor License
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be available for on-call and call-back duty
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as assigned and on emergencies
