SALARY
The minimum salary is $20.855 per hour
This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable.
Pay Grade 515
This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month, $0.52c/hour) and CDL pay ($1.08/hour) upon hire.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to operate and maintain two (2) or more pieces of power construction or other heavy equipment; may supervise and train work crews.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Two (2) years of related experience
- Additional years of related education may substitute for years of related experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Operates equipment related to area of assignment
- Inspects equipment for proper operating condition and makes minor repairs, as needed
- Coordinates major repairs and preventative maintenance with fleet services
- Performs routine clerical duties such as completing route sheets, notices, service requests and other forms as necessary
- Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid Kentucky Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Class B and a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner's Certificate in order to qualify and must be maintained as a condition of employment
- Must obtain Endorsement N - Tank Vehicles within the first six (6) months of employment and must be maintained as a condition of employment
- CDL holders are subject to FMCSA query prior to qualification

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be accessible to on-call duty and be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned and during emergencies.
- Positions are required to perform snow removal duties during weather emergencies.
- Must be able to operate Urban County Government equipment and vehicles in a safe, prudent and responsible manner.
- All positions require drug testing before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
