SALARY

 
The minimum salary is $21.898 per hour
This position is eligible for overtime (non-exempt), if applicable.
Pay Grade 516

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this position is to assist in the implementation and administration of effective community outreach in order to increase engagement, visibility, and participation in programs and events.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's degree, vocational technical degree, or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two (2) years of college education in a related field
  • Two (2) years of related experience 
  • Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
  • Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
  • Valid driver's license

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists in the implementation, administration, and evaluation of specified programs and activities
    • Directly involved in the Neighborhood Youth Council, MetroCATS, Digital Scholars, Spotlight on Youth and I DO Initiative programs
    • Assist with the Grassroots and Summer Youth Job Training programs as needed
  • Assists with recruitment, training, and orientation of participants, collaborative partners, businesses, and volunteers
  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external divisions, groups, organizations, community providers and agencies, and the public
  • Coordinates, leads, and/or attends various internal and external meetings and assists with related public functions and events, as needed
  • Prepares and provides various reports related to program goals and objectives
  • Develops, updates, and provides program-related marketing materials to promote public education and awareness
  • Researches and collects data, determines inventory needs, maintains records according to established procedures, and performs other administrative tasks as necessary
  • Performs related work as assigned
     

SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

  • Valid driver's license
  • First Aid and CPR Certifications must be obtained within first six (6) months of employment and maintained as a condition of continued employment.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • May be required to work flexible hours and/or weekends as assigned
  • All positions require drug testing, background check, Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) check, State and National sex offender registry checks before employment and may require a post-job offer physical.
