GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
This position processes and facilitates quick and accurate delivery of administrative support to Code Compliance functions, Contractor Licensing Board. Work involves providing backup to the Code Compliance Program in order to centralize, coordinate, and facilitate the quick and accurate delivery of available permitting, fiscal, record keeping, licensing, code compliance and citizen review board services to the residents, property owners, and land development professionals served by the Department of Development Support and Environmental Management (DSEM).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Research and process Compliance Certification Letter (CCL) requests for open code violations and lien research requests within the unincorporated area. Monitor the Abandoned Property Registration (APR) Program and the Refueling Assistance for Persons with Disabilities Program (RAP).
Manage all Contractors' records, maintaining active and inactive files. Verify and process Certificate of Liability Insurance and Workers’ Compensation documents via Project Dox.
Notify contractors and process license renewals for County specialty and state licenses. Assist Contractor Licensing with phone and walk-in customers to resolve problems and respond to questions regarding contractors and contractor licensing.
Serve as back-up for the Code Compliance Program.
Conducts and coordinates administrative, operational and policy special projects as directed by the Supervisor or the Department Director.

Employees in this position perform work tasks that involve general and specific knowledge of office and program functions and activities. Work involves maintaining a high level of customer service for walk-in customers and those on the telephone. Work also involves being able to meet legal deadlines, and the ability to interpret and disseminate information on County policies and procedures, codes, ordinances, and Florida statutes. Independent judgment must be used to meet deadlines while maintaining established workload.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CUSTOMER CONTACT
Work involves contact with employees in other departments and various organizations outside the County to obtain or supply information. Work also requires contact with the general public.
EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS USED
Tools and equipment used include, but may not be limited to, personal computer; word processing, spreadsheet, and database software; specialized software such as Accela and ProjectDox; typewriter, fax machine; adding machine/basic calculator; and a multi-line switchboard.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is performed mainly indoors, in an office, usually seated in a chair. Work requires some walking, standing, and dexterity and speed in the operation of office equipment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of a multi-line switchboard. Ability to screen calls, take messages, and direct calls. Knowledge of personal computer, Windows and MS Word software. Skilled in effectively performing as a receptionist and answering a switchboard. Skilled in communicating clearly, effectively and tactfully. Skilled in typing and word processing. Ability to maintain computerized records. Ability to efficiently organize, prioritize, understand and meet deadlines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent and three years of professional administrative and/or customer service work experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid State of Florida Class "E" operator's license and have a favorable driving record.
A Florida Notary Public is preferred.
All Leon County employees (regular full-time and part-time, OPS, and PRN) are required to work before, during and after a Declared Local State of Emergency (DLSOE). Participation is considered a condition of employment.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid State of Florida Class "E" operator's license and have a favorable driving record.
A Florida Notary Public is preferred.
