At IDx, we believe that automation has the potential to transform the quality, accessibility, and affordability of medical diagnosis. Our team is rapidly expanding as we launch the first autonomous AI diagnostic tool in U.S. healthcare: IDx-DR, an AI-based software system that detects diabetic retinopathy — a leading cause of preventable blindness.
What we are looking for:
IDx is looking for a creative and inquisitive Communications Specialist with exceptional writing skills and a marketing mindset. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating original content that provides value to our target healthcare stakeholders: providers, administrators, and patients.
This is a new position, so the individual hired will be heavily involved in shaping the priorities and responsibilities of this role. Responsibilities may include:
- Research and write original content including blog posts, case studies, white papers, byline articles, and more.
- Work with the marketing team to develop and execute a cross platform content calendar.
- Expand the company’s multimedia library, including videos and images, for use in content creation.
- Develop copy for marketing and advertising collateral.
- Assist with PR strategy and activities, including development of press releases.
- Research media coverage and industry trends to inspire development of new story ideas.
- Ensure all communications adhere to regulatory and quality control standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or equivalent experience.
- 2 plus years relevant experience in marketing, public relations, or writing for healthcare.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and consistently produce original content.

Desirable qualifications:
- Prior experience in healthcare, B2B, or other regulated industry highly desirable.
- 5 plus years relevant experience.
- Experience with graphic design and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
