Driller Helpers, Laborers needed by Winchester based Geotechnical Drilling Company. Extensive Regional Travel and Driver's License Required. Class A CDL and or Surface Mine Card a Plus. As a geotechnical drilling company, our business is to sample and test the earth to provide data to engineers for their use in the design of anything that is built on, with or through the earth.
To do this,we operate drill rigs, perform testing and install instrumentation. The drill rigs are operated by a driller and he is assisted by one or two driller helpers. We are seeking driller helpers to assist our drillers. This is an entry level labor position where you helping the driller drill, handling drill steel, and helping keep the drill supplied and serviced. It is a physically demanding job and you must capable of lifting 100 pounds. It is also a job that is performed outdoors year round and outside of Winchester most of the time, typically within a 2 to 4 hour radius. Hotel accommodations are provided by the company and you are provided a daily expense per diem.
You will typically depart our office at 7:00 Am on Monday, work 4 long days and return to our office on Thursday evening. However about 30 percent of the time, you will we be required to work Friday also. As well, three or four times a year, working a ten day shift, may be required due to the distance to the project or client demands. Starting pay will typically range from $ 14 to $ 17 per hour, based on relevant experience and or certifications. We also employ drillers, equipment operators, truck drivers, mechanics and welders, so there is the opportunity to learn some of these skills.
We also have an excellent benefit package available after completing a 90 day probation period. A class A Commercial Driver's License and or a surface mine card, and other relevant experience will give you an advantage over other candidates. However, you must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
