Engineer 11 Hitachi Astemo Americas, Inc. Berea, KY
Duties: Responsible for execution of engineering strategies and tactical plans at company sites. Perform time studies and utilize cycle time analyses to determine the most efficient work-flow operations by analyzing standard time, staffing requirement and cost efficiency to drive process optimization. Analyze and review line improvement/cycle time reduction/line balance and ensure efficient and effective implementation. Confirm complete job tasks with Production/Engineers and share results with Management Contact vendors to determine product specifications and arrange purchase of items. Gather performance data, analyze statistical data and measure infrastructures ability to deliver agreed capacity and performance targets in standard time, cost efficiency and timely manner. Prepare capacity analysis report for internal and external. Provide recommendations and coordinate with Engineers/Production to perform capacity planning activities. Identify and improve productivity and ergonomic process in production and implement 4C. Monitor and report related safety issues to direct Manager. Collect data and identify issues on New Launch Builds, share with Engineers/Production/Management for improvements and achieve target performance and efficiency Verify and review customer contracted volume with Lead Account Manager and update capacity and common process group in customer system and capacity report. Update monthly KPI tracking and utilize MES data to analyze downtime, efficiency and performance. Verify pre-build checklist/process checklist documents, update matrix during/after Team Member training and confirm staging components and material ready for New Launch Builds. Support and develop Standardized Work Instruction for New Products processes.
Requirements: Requires Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Applied Engineering and Technology Management, or closely related field, and two years of experience in an automotive components manufacturing environment as an Industrial Engineer or Engineer I. Experience must include implementation of 40, time and motion studies on manufacturing processes, lean operations and continuous improvement projects. Up to 5% domestic and international travel may be required. Employment is contingent upon drug screen and background check.
