PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Construction Project Scheduler prepares and maintains work schedules for Hinkle's internal asphalt construction crews (or support crews). All decisions regarding movement of company employees and equipment scheduling rest on their authority to make well-planned decisions and accommodate the customer's needs. This individual will work closely with our Construction Managers and will schedule work on a wide variety of asphalt construction projects throughout the State of Kentucky. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: -Prepare summary and detail level schedules, including: ?Project name, project owner and project duration ?Assigned internal construction crew (asphalt paving, stone base, prep and / or milling machine) ?Project material source, product(s) specified and quantity ?Support equipment (mobile construction equipment and total haul vehicles required) ?Other support needs (traffic control, quality control, other) -Monitor crew progress and make necessary changes to overall schedule due to weather or project delays -Maximize available work hours while managing overtime and adhering to governmental regulations on hours worked per day and / or week. -Must be competent with computers -Provide support and training in the use of project and scheduling software to office and jobsite staff. -Conduct schedule and work in place reviews. -Ability to follow directions -Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public / customers at all times -Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: -High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of three years' construction experience preferred. -Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check; -Pass a pre-employment "Fit for Work" physical; -Be able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document; -Must be able to physically sit at a computer terminal for long periods of time; -Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook; -Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist coworkers or supervisors with other duties as required; and -Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
