Senior Program Coordinator - Pre-College – 534394

 

Job Summary:

Coordinates and administers the operational and financial activities associated with pre-collegiate projects and grants within the Student Access and Success department. Supervise student and summer staff. Coordinates and supports the academic/student program planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs and grants. Demonstrates broad decision-making authority, judgment, and independence; originates new program concepts or approaches. Reports to the Program Director, Upward Bound and Pre-College.

  • Coordinates and supports all logistical and day-to-day operational activities associated with the year-round and summer programs.
  • Oversees the planning of workshops, field trips, college tours, summer programs operations and other student programmatic activities, to include but not limit, Black History Brain Bowl, National Achievers Society (NAS) Induction, Martin Luther King Parade and other program related activities for National Achievers Society (NAS), Partners in Progress (PIP) and the College Reach-Out Program (CROP).
  • Develops and implements recruitment strategies for year-round and summer programs to increase programs objectives. Organizes and leads outreach activities to increase program visibility.
  • Monitors the status of projects. Analyzes program services data, develops reports and oversee activities.
  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with students, FIU, and Miami Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) to promote program benefits.
  • Serves as the primary liaison for the Pre-College Program on division-wide committees, representing the program's interests and providing relevant information and expertise.
  • Recruits, hires and supervises summer staff for College Reach-Out Program (CROP) Summer Middle School, Partners in Progress (PIP) and Switch-On summer programs. Ensures effective delivery of programming. Coordinates onboarding and training for new hires, establishes clear performance expectations, and provides ongoing support and evaluation to maintain program standards.
  • Coordinates with the Program Director in training and evaluating the work of others, as required. Assures the staff are compliant with university policies and procedures.
  • Develops resources and informative workshops for participants¿ parents in the National Achievers Society (NAS) and the College Reach-Out Program (CROP)..
  • Oversees the application process for prospective students, ensuring timely review and processing of applications. Collaborates with staff to verify the accuracy of submitted materials, communicates with applicants about missing documentation, and provides support throughout the recruitment process.
  • Assists with the programming budget, which includes submitting quarterly reports to sponsor agencies.
  • Handles cash/gift card transactions on a daily basis.
  • Coordinates the program development, scheduling, and implementation for National Achievers Society (NAS), Partners in Progress (PIP) and the College Reach-Out Program (CROP).
  • Assists the Program Director with course scheduling, space allocation and program marketing for the National Achievers Society (NAS), Partners in Progress (PIP) and the College Reach-Out Program (CROP), as required.
  • Supports the Program Director with maintaining databases for National Achievers Society (NAS) and the College Reach-Out Program (CROP).

 

Minimum Qualifications:              

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of office or related experience.

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience working with K-12 programming
  • Ability to travel, attend, and assist with all staff training programs.

 

Salary: $47,000-$48,500

Work Schedule:

Begin time: 8:30 AM
End time: 5:00 PM

  • Must attend meetings off campus and occasionally attend functions on weekends and evening
  • Ability to travel locally and nationally.
