Community Action Council for Lexington-Fayette, Bourbon, Harrison and Nicholas Counties is currently accepting applications for the position of Disabilities and Mental Health Specialist. The position is directly responsible for ensuring mental health and disabilities services in all child development centers are in compliance with child care licensing, Head Start Performance Standards, ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), and IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act). In collaboration with Early Head Start Partnership Directors, this position provides technical assistance to center staff that meets funding source requirements and to ensure program outcomes.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development or early childhood special education, psychology, sociology or specific licensure in a therapeutic discipline field required. Two years of relevant experience. Must obtain a T.B. skin test, as well as any other screenings, physicals, and testing required by the funding source, licensing and/or regulations.
