The Director of Child Development has responsibility for program compliance matters, the allocation of sources and that service delivery personnel are knowledgeable about program requirements. He/she is responsible for ensuring the establishment and measurement of outcomes for his/her operations and assigned personnel. The position serves as the “Early Head Start, Head Start and Migrant and Seasonal Head Start Director” as those terms are defined by the Administration for Children and Families.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in business administration, public administration or management is preferred. A bachelor’s degree in the human or behavioral sciences including early childhood development is required. Person’s without the preferred master’s degree must demonstrate substantial experience and capabilities in developing processes and systems and the successful implementation of same. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience is required with a minimum of two of those years in a management level position. Must obtain a T.B. skin test, as well as any other screenings, physicals, and testing required by the funding source, licensing and/or regulations.
