Assistant Director of Child Development
(Fayette Co.)
Community Action Council for Lexington-Fayette, Bourbon, Harrison and Nicholas Counties is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director of Child Development. Under the supervision of the Director of Child Development, this position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing a comprehensive child development program. This position supervises assigned staff, and collaborates with managers within all departments in the conduct of his/her duties and responsibilities. This position has the responsibility for ensuring program compliance with Head Start and other early childhood programs. The Assistant Director of Child Development assumes the responsibilities of the Director of Child Development in his/her absence.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field required. Interpersonal and communication skills including working as part of a team, leadership ability, budget management, and staff supervision. Five years of relevant experience. Knowledge of the Head Start Performance Standards, Kentucky childcare regulations, STARS, and early childhood accreditation programs. Computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and the internet and e-communications is highly preferred. Knowledge of the application of information systems technology to the gathering, analysis, and reporting of program activities and outcomes is highly preferred.

Salary: $55,265.60 - $60,792.16 (plus excellent benefits)10% salary differential for bilingual applicants (English/Spanish)
