Job Summary:
Cleveland State University’s College of Health, School of Nursing invites applications for two Nurse Practitioner Positions specializing in Psych Mental Health or Family Nurse Practitioner at the rank of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor to teach in our recently launched and completely online Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) tracks in our MSN program. The start date is August 18, 2025, with classes beginning August 25, 2025. This is a 9-month academic year contract with optional summer contracts as operational needs dictate.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The candidate will oversee all aspects of the development and implementation of relevant online courses. They will collaborate with the Track Lead to maintain current plan of study, course development, and curriculum pathways. The successful candidate will be required to maintainclinical currency. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching in university settings and diverse communities and will have each of the following essential responsibilities:

· Instruct courses with a dedication to academic excellence.

· Support the administration and evaluation of the academic progress of students in the assigned course(s) and NP program.

· Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the program.

· Maintain currency and appropriate credentials with specialty practices.

· Serve as curriculum and content expert.

· Assists School of Nursing leadership with ensuring that that assigned track meets AACN essentials, NONPF standards, and any other standards particular to the track.

· Participates in CCNE accreditation reports and visits.

· Participate in new graduate student orientation to ensure students understand clinical rules, regulations, and expectations of the graduate program.

The Online Master of Science in Nursing program in CSU’s School of Nursing has been ranked number 3 in the state of Ohio and 47th nationally according to the U.S. News and World Report’s 2021 list of the Best Online Degree Programs.

The School of Nursing is housed in the College of Health (COH) along with the departments of Communication Sciences & Disorders, Health Sciences & Human Performance, Music Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and the School of Social Work. Together, the College includes more than 23 certificates, undergraduate and graduate health professions and nursing programs all designed to provide clinical and experiential learning, interprofessional practice and scholarship activities. The College of Health operates two on-site health clinics that provide hands-on training to our students and health care to our communities. Minimum Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DNP) in nursing or related field required. Appropriate terminal degree completed by August 1, 2025. Persons who are ABD will be hired at the rank of Instructor;
• Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP);
• Nurse Practitioner Board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NONPF);
• Current, unencumbered APRN and RN licensure in Ohio;
• Current knowledge of nursing practice at the program level;
• Five (5) years of clinical practice as a nurse practitioner is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two (2) years of teaching experience (didactic and clinical) is preferred
• Experience with Blackboard or other Learning Management System;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and experience leading in a team environment;
• Demonstrated ability to manage change through strategic communication, problem-solving, and shared governance;
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusiveness and collegiality in personal and professional work and mentoring students and faculty on the importance of multicultural and multidisciplinary applications;
• Experience in online curriculum development and program development, including a concept-based curriculum, preferred.
