Sourcing Engineer (Lexington, KY)
Responsible for the purchased product delivery to the manufacturing and aftermarket parts operations (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Cash, etc.) for the assigned commodities.
Requires Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Must have 3 years of experience as a buyer or procurement engineer in a manufacturing operation or in a related position. Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a buyer or procurement engineer in an aftermarket parts operation. Must have experience interfacing with domestic and international suppliers and with internal & external multi-disciplinary teams. Must have experience working with vendors for components for material handling products, heavy mobile equipment or related industry. Must have experience developing new domestic and foreign sources. Must have experience negotiating and drafting contracts. Must have experience interfacing with internal/external suppliers and multi-disciplinary teams. Must have demonstrated knowledge of quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, etc. to ensure parts meet standards. Must have demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes for different commodities including fabrications, castings, plastics, rubber, electric and electronic. Must have demonstrated knowledge of commodity strategy creation and implementation. Must have demonstrated knowledge of purchasing policies, procedures and principles. Must have demonstrated knowledge of pricing of raw materials, labor rates and manufacturing costs; and must have demonstrated knowledge of blueprint reading, supplier processes, pricing structure/policies and Uniform Commercial Code. Travel required: up to 20%. Must have unrestricted legal authority to work in the U.S.
