The Christian Appalachian Project (CAP) seeks a director of major gifts, to provide leadership to its major gift’s philanthropy team, to play a central role in CAP’s Rise and Shine comprehensive campaign; and to secure
philanthropic support from the nation’s most generous and thoughtful philanthropists.
Located in the heart of central Appalachia, CAP’s mission is building hope, transforming lives, and sharing Christ’s love through service. We provide basic needs and services for children, their families, and seniors living in unimaginable poverty, with core values of faith, service, and compassion. Raising more than $30 million per annum, CAP’s philanthropy program is mature and productive. The director of major gifts will coach, mentor, and manage a team of 5 seasoned fundraisers to new levels of success and utilize opportunities for professional development, career planning and succession programming with a vision toward the long-term success for employees and the institution. The director of major gifts will enjoy partnership with an engaged leadership team, active board and loyal donor base who understand the importance of a strong culture of philanthropy.
The director of major gifts will demonstrate progressively responsible experience in philanthropy and in supervisory or management positions. A personal track record raising major gifts is essential. Of greatest import is a leader who resonates with and can speak passionately on behalf of the mission and values of Christian Appalachian Project and its human services programs.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 7 or more years of successful experience in related field or combination of education and experience.

Base Pay: $70,000.00 annually.
