Family Support Worker
Job Description
Beneficial Behavioral Health Services is looking for motivated self-starters who are passionate about helping struggling families find stability with a bachelors degree. Our Family Support Specialists offer education and support to parents in all aspects of day-to-day living including household management, parenting skills, building healthy relationships and emotional regulation techniques. Through our services, struggling families are empowered to build support systems, gain access to community resources, make better parenting choices and begin to heal. This is collaborative and dynamic work. Family Support Specialists communicate closely with parents and children, foster parents or placement, referral sources and other agency representatives and complete electronic documentation. Must be able to do Parenting Time work while building your Family Support Services.
Additional compensation for bilingual skills (Spanish speaking).
Full time and Part time positions are available. Evenings and one weekend day are required for the job as this is when most families are able to be together to reunite.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degreein human services field, social work, psychology, teaching or related field (other BA/BS degrees accepted if applicant has two years experience in the field)
- Keep records in compliance with company and agency policies and procedures
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Computer literacy and proficient keyboarding skills
- Provide transportation with personal vehicle to surrounding communities in conjunction with the provision of services allowed
- Valid driver's license in good standing, reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance
- Ability to multi-task and build relationships.
- Flexibility and the ability to handle change in a positive manner.
- Required to work evenings and one weekend day.

Skills/Qualifications including but not limited to:
- Must be 19 years old or older
- At least 2 years of child related education/work and or driving experience
- Strong writing skills and computer skills
- Demonstrates understanding and empathy for others
- Pass background checks (Sexual Offenders Register, DHHS Central Registers for Adult Protective Services/Child Abuse and Neglect, and all Criminal Background Checks.)
- Pass a drug test upon hire and throughout employment
- Current and valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
- Maintain and provide copies of current Auto Insurance
- Ability to multi-task and build relationships.
- Flexibility and the ability to handle change in a positive manner.
- Spanish Speaking a Plus
- Specific knowledge in safety, normal family function, neglect, abuse or exploitation of children
