Overview:
The Director of Cardiac Cath Services is accountable for providing clinical and managerial leadership in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the diagnostic and interventional cardiology program.
Special Instructions
Prefer a minimum of 5 years Cath Lab experience; BSN desired
Responsibilities
Collaborates and interacts with the Cardiologists in the delivery of Cardiology patient care services.
Manages the service in an efficient manner by planning, organizing, and controlling all activities to obtain maximum results.
Schedules work assignments and coordinates requests for services to ensure adequate coverage of the service at all times.
Supervises and maintains services in compliance with standards established by the hospital and state, local and federal standards.
Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of services being provided in the service through an on-going program of quality improvement.
Develops, maintains, implements and interprets work standards and procedures.
Determines staffing needs and patterns and recommends appropriate staffing levels and classifications consistent with unit position authorization and productivity benchmarks.
Makes recommendations for employment, termination, promotion, and disciplinary action regarding department personnel. Evaluates subordinates on a regular basis.
Supervises the daily business functions of the services directed, including charge capture
and reconciliation functions.
Maintains an up-to-date knowledge in areas of responsibility to allow recommendation of new services, products and equipment.
Supervises training and staff development of personnel in the department and assures that employees receive proper orientation and education.
Oversees equipment procurement and maintenance.
Assures that appropriate and accurate records are prepared on a timely basis.
Prepares and administers departmental budgets as required.
Coordinates departmental purchasing and maintains proper stock level, storage, and utilization of supplies.
Participates in strategic planning for the specified service.
Assures compliance with State, Federal, and JCAHO standards and regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, with Associate Degree in Nursing required and Bachelors or Masters preferred,
and two years management experience preferred.
POSITION PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess the physical ability needed to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally; and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently; and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Responsible for maintaining services in accordance with state, local, and federal regulations.
Responsible for assuring proper patient care and quality services for all patients.
Responsible for assuring that equipment is in good working order, maintaining adequate levels of supplies, and for efficient utilization of supplies.
Responsible for timely preparation of reports, documents, statistical records, and other department records.
Responsible for supervising and selecting personnel as assigned and for coordinating work assignments.
Responsible for assuring required quality controls are conducted in a timely manner.
Responsible for the efficient management and operation of all assigned services.
Responsible for quality improvement.
