What we’ll expect from you:
- Ability to locate, digest and create daily political and public policy stories that resonate with everyday Michigander.
- Ability to work with a team of experienced political reporters, including through partnering with other reporters on enterprise pieces and longform, investigative journalism.
- Familiarity or willingness to learn new tools and software, including our content management system for publishing stories and photographs.
- Ability to tell stories in smart and engaging ways and be willing to experiment in different storytelling forms.
- Degree in journalism, communications or a related field required
- Minimum of 2 years of journalism experience with a proven ability in reporting and writing required
- Ability to work independently and remotely. The position is based in Lansing and will include a mix of in-office and remote work.
