Cardiology Nurse Practitioner Job with UVA Health in Warrenton, VA

UVA Cardiology, located in Northern Virginia, is a well-established Cardiology group of 45 years, seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to provide outpatient general cardiology healthcare. Previous cardiology or electrophysiology experience is preferred, but not required.   

Overview:

• We have clinic locations in Manassas, Haymarket and Warrenton; and affiliated with three  hospitals:  UVAMC, UVAHMC and Fauquier Hospital.
• Our group consists of two interventional cardiologists, one invasive cardiologist, two general cardiologists  and one acute-care Nurse Practitioner. 
• We have a total of 22 employees supporting our patients and providers, including clinic administrators
• Majority of time will be spent seeing patients at UVA Health Cardiology Warrenton.
• In collaboration with an attending physician, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for direct patient care and follow-up, as well as conducting diagnostic procedures.
• Our Nurse Practitioner also provides health care services to patients including health promotion, care for acute and chronic phases of illness as well as patient and family education and counseling.  
• Primary hours will be Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm, but hours can be flexible to meet the needs of the patients.  No nights, no weekends and no call!

We offer consultative and diagnostic services including:  nuclear imaging, vascular and echo ultrasound, cardiac catheterization and intervention, pacemaker and Loop recorder implantation, device and INR management clinics, as well as 24-hr holter and mobile cardiac monitoring.     

Qualifications:

• Education - Master's degree in NP program or post Master's NP program
• Experience -One to three years of experience working in a physician practice setting.  Preferred
• Licensure/Certification/Registration - Current NP license in Virginia, registry with state medical board, BLS/ACLS certified and current DEA registry required
• Additional Skills Required - Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.  Ability to work with management team and physicians; demonstrated customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
