CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASST/KY MEDICATION AIDE

SALARY RANGE: $14.99 - 22.49 JOB SUMMARY: The Certified Medical Assistant or Kentucky Medication Aide administers medications with safety techniques and sound judgment under the direction of a licensed nurse. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures. Performance that accomplishes resident and family centered care as central to practice and a foundation of caring, compassion, competence, communication, collaboration and teamwork. Responsible for participating in shared leadership to accomplish positive outcomes, education, respect, dignity and safety for the resident and their family. Exhibits F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service and Trust).” Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort: Works in a well-lighted, ventilated and air conditioned area. Schedule may consist of weekends, holidays and shift work. Often exposed to unpleasant odors, sights and sounds. Risks exposure to disease, infection and physical strain and assault. Risks exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, radiation and antineoplastic agents. Must be able to move or position 50 lbs. independently. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION OR EQUIVALENTS: Education: Graduate of an accredited CMA/KMA certification program. Experience: Demonstrated competence in the clinical setting. EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Basic Computer skills. LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS: Current CMA/KMA certification in the State of Kentucky. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (successful completion within three [3] months of employment).
