Leidos Digital Modernization Sector is seeking a Junior Project Manager, who will support The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Security Operations Center (SOC) at our customer site located in Ashburn, VA. CBP SOC is a US Government program responsible to prevent, identify, contain and eradicate cyber threats to CBP networks through monitoring, intrusion detection and protective security services to CBP information systems including local area networks/wide area networks (LAN/WAN), commercial Internet connection, public facing websites, wireless, mobile/cellular, various cloud environments, security devices, servers and workstations. The CBP SOC is responsible for the overall security of CBP Enterprise-wide information systems, and collects, investigates, and reports any suspected and confirmed security violations.
U.S. Citizenship and ability to favorably pass a 5-year (BI) Background Investigation is required begin work on the program.
What will you do in this role?
As the Junior Project Manager, you will be leading critical SOC engineering projects including projects such as launching applications into the AWS Cloud, Splunk logging, and SIEM implementation, etc. You will work with the customer to prioritize operational issues, engineering activities, and development efforts, and the schedule to completion. Other projects will include setting up and guiding a Task Management solution to track Engineering and Program Management initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities will include:
Assist Senior PM highly visible CBP SOC projects and initiatives to closure
Assist Senior PM lead key customer briefings and generally assisting the SOC leadership (Government and contractor in execution and strategy)
Updates to Processes, SOPs, and Best Practices
Ensure high quality of all contractual deliverables
Facilitate quality comments back to the analysts and leads for the source data to ensure the best data for future analysis
Perform other general administrative duties requested by your supervisor or Project Managers.
Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and 2+ years of prior relevant experience or Master’s Degree may be considered for additional years of experience.
Must be able to multitask and prioritize work in a high-volume environment.
An expert in Microsoft Office
Familiarity with providing OIT operational support and multiple layers of leadership and customer
Ability to update projects in a fashion similar to various service management tools
Familiarity with keeping customer’s updates on project statuses, and resolving problems, and escalations
Understanding of customer interactions, professional mannerisms and ability consistently and accurately provide responses
Ability to resolve customer issues/concerns to ensure customer satisfaction
Familiarity with customer's fields, concepts, processes and procedures
Familiarity with information technology/computer operations/network
Ability to manage dashboard from service now for project need
A strong background in proofreading, grammar and formatting
Candidate must be local to the DMV area
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience with DHS or CBP customer
Experience with Power BI, Jira, MS Teams
Clearance:
All Department of Homeland Security CBP SOC employees are required to favorably pass a 5-year (BI) Background Investigation
