Job Description

Hunting, Dearborn Division is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, CNC Programmer to join our team in Fryeburg, ME. The CNC Programmer works collaboratively with Project Management, Quality Assurance and Machinists to create highly effective CNC programs, develop ergonomic manufacturing processes and solutions to optimize efficiency and productivity in a top rated, highly respected manufacturing facility. The CNC programmer is responsible for planning and designing work holding solutions, tool selection, determining the optimal sequence of CNC manufacturing processes and generating G-code that results in stable, repeatable geometric features.

The ideal CNC Programmer candidate will have 3-5 years of related work experience. Effective verbal and written communication are essential skills. We desire a solid foundation in high school math and the ability to efficiently problem solve.

Responsibilities

  • Create moderate-high complexity programs for parts, machine controls as well as first piece and prototype parts.
  • Programming of mills, lathes, millturns, and grinders.
  • Programming for Siemens, Fanuc and Heidenhain.
  • Resolve process and program issues.
  • Evaluate and recommend tooling.
  • Collaborate with team to provide effective cutter path support.
  • Program CNC machines.
  • Determine tooling requirements and tooling setups for CNC programs.
  • Work with highly skilled team to develop new products.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Understand complex GD&T.
  • Experience using the Cartesian coordinate system.
  • SolidWorks 3D modeling software.
  • Manual (long-hand) programming in G-code.
  • MasterCam CAD/CAM software.
  • Vericut simulation software.
  • Contributor to a team environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Mathematical thinking and processing.
  • Strong geometry foundation.
  • Strong trigonometry foundation.
  • Ability to maintain systems of organization.
  • Attention to detail.
