Optometrist - Part-time (2 days/week) - Family-Owned Private Practice - Washington, DC

*New graduates and experienced optometrists are encouraged to apply!

In 1973, practice opened the first location on 1712 Eye St., NW in Washington, DC with a vision to change the way Washington sees eye care. As we've grown over the last 50 years, we have evolved from a one-location optical store to an eight-location optometry and optical practice. Practice continues to be family-run, with both of owners' daughters overseeing the day-to-day operations with the same focus on customer and patient service, superior quality, and providing the best selection of eyewear that Albert established in 1973. We are looking for a Full-Time Optometrist to join the practice and this legacy of high-quality care!

What You’ll Need:

  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) Degree (or pending)
  • Valid DC state license to practice optometry (or pending)
  • A clinically sound doctor who can do primary care.
  • We are seeking an OD who is a great communicator, is very personable, and is a team player. If you love helping patients understand their eye care issues, this is the perfect position for you!

Why Work Here?

Exposure: You will gain exposure to a wide range of eye care and vision needs in our full-scope practice. Our doctors provide primary care, treat dry eye, cataracts, macular degeneration, prescribe medications to treat conditions such as conjunctivitis, dry eye, and ocular allergy, and fit soft and rigid gas permeable lenses in the following categories: spherical, toric (astigmatic), multifocal, multifocal toric, and monovision.

Environment: Our new OD will be working alongside fantastic opticians who will provide intake forms, and our staff will scan or pull charts for the doctor. Likewise, they will have everything they need to be successful including:

  • basic exam lanes, manual, phoropter slit lamp, visual acuity screen, retina photography, compulink software

Schedule: We only schedule  6-8 patients per day, no insurance, no coding or billing, and a fee for service to ensure that our doctors can provide their best care as well!

Hours: 10am-6pm. Part-Time (2 days/week). Either Monday and Wednesday, or Tuesday and Thursday

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive salary plus performance bonuses

Why You’ll Love Our Location:

As a family-owned practice, we focus first and foremost on customer service and emphasize superior quality care. To that end, we go the extra mile to keep our scheduling low volume to ensure each patient is well taken care of. Likewise, we have an optical shop included in our practices to ensure that our patients can take care of all their eye care needs in one location.
