Maintenance Tech - Electrical

General Description

The Maintenance Technician – Electrical will perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on all electrical systems, equipment, and machinery as well as troubleshoot equipment and machinery issues. This Technician will also perform any other maintenance work required and contribute to the needs of the maintenance team in general. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.

· Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.

· Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.

· Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts and documents and reports all work performed.

· Orders and installs replacement parts for machines.

· Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.

· Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.

· Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.

· Coordinates with managers to schedule regular and preventative maintenance on machines.

· Collaborates with product manager and plant engineers regarding adding new products and modifications.

· Makes necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required.

· Maintenance of factory utility equipment and all other factory equipment as needed and assigned.

Education and Experience

· High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

· Vocational or college with relevant coursework or equivalent experience, strongly preferred.

· 5 years of electrical maintenance experience, preferred.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.

· Knowledge of electrical systems and electrical safety and machine safety in general.

· Works well independently and with others.

Physical Demands

· Prolonged periods standing and walking.

· Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.

· Must be able to visually inspect machines.

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

· Work performed in a non-climate-controlled plant environment with tooling noise.
