Job Title: Quality Engineer
FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt
Reports to: Quality Manager
Summary of Job:
Provide expertise in support of quality improvements in products and processes and provide guidance in matters relating to regulatory and oversight environments.
Job Duties:
Develop and revise Quality systems and procedures as directed by management to ensure documentation is compliant to current practices.
Conduct requested audits and investigations and report on corrective action steps taken to prevent recurrences when necessary.
Gather and analyze performance data (scrap, rejections, defects, rework) to aid in the development of process improvement projects. As needed, coordinate across other production and functional areas to ensure maximum quality and efficiencies are achieved.
Conduct process or product based audits in production or functional areas or within the supply base (external suppliers).
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have experience in the following job skills:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field with focus on Quality Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of Quality Engineering or Quality Assurance in an aerospace manufacturing environment required.
- Prefer aerospace Quality Engineering experience.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and knowledge of shop equipment.
- Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance experience
- Able to read and understand blueprints, drawings and production planning documents.
- Familiar with PFMEA, 6 Sigma and Lean Principles.
