Responsibilities:

Provide nursing services, treatments, and diagnostic and preventive procedures suitable for inmate care and safety.
Interpret physicians' orders.
Administer prescribed medication.
Assist the physician with sick call when present.
Apply surgical dressings and bandages.
Provide emergency first aid care.
Check and record vital signs.
Instruct inmates on discharge planning.
Observe signs and symptoms during sick call when the physician is unavailable.
Report reactions to treatments and medications, as well as changes in inmates' emotional or physical conditions.
