About the Opportunity:

FedTec is looking to hire a Test Engineer to work at USPS is looking to staff a new project to fulfill the needs of their Facilities organization and support their new initiative called IPME. As part of this initiative along with Booz Allen Hamilton partner we will be implementing a Java based application using Java, SpringBoot, JSF, Primefaces and kafka. The IPME product is the modernization effort of their legacy EFMS application. To fulfill this need USPS is looking to fill a Test Engineer with automation experience.

Position: Test Engineer

Work Location: Remote

Client: USPS

Responsibilities:

  • Writing test plans and creating test cases for the product.
  • Conducting quality assurance and designing performance tests using the new testing procedures.
  • Troubleshooting any errors and streamlining the testing procedures.
  • Writing up the QA and test procedures for Customer Acceptance Tests cases.
  • Training the quality assurance staff and providing technical support when needed.
  • Ensuring all tests and procedures meet company and industry standards.
  • Preparing test reports for management using ALM, VersionOne and other tools.
  • Experience with Java and Selenium development to automate test cases.
  • Knowledge of manipulating Web Elements using Selenium Webdriver for Test automation.
  • Capable of troubleshooting and maintaining automation test frameworks
  • Understanding of Junit, TestNG and Cucumber frameworks for writing reporting.
  • Interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications.
  • Participates in final system integration and validation to identify functional problems. Defines internal quality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs.
  • Creates, documents, and analyzes the most complex test cases and provides feedback and recommendations for product or design changes.
  • Ensures testing procedures comply with any required industry-specific standards. Identifies chronic or systemic problems in testing and develops and implements improvements to process.
  • May coordinate with vendors or suppliers to modify or develop testing for components or other parts.
  • Works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state-of-the-art technical or industry knowledge.
  • Works autonomously. Goals are generally communicated in solution or project goal terms.
  • May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in area of specialty
  • 2+ years of experience in the field or in a related area

Additional Provisions

  • Pass both a client-mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.
  • Once a candidate's resume is approved and the interview passed, the agency is responsible for providing drug screening. Failure to submit the drug screening results will delay the security clearance process.
  • An offer contingent upon successful USPS Public Trust clearance will be extended to the candidate.
  • If a candidate is given an interim clearance, continuation of employment is then based on the candidate receiving a sensitive clearance.
  • Candidate must have lived in the US for the past 5 years.
  • Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
  • All overtime must be pre-approved in writing by the client manager or his/her designated representative.
  • The enforced dress code is business casual, i.e. collared shirt with slacks for men, no skirts above the knee for women.
