Group Housing Coordinator

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES                

To accurately input group and individual reservations following the Marriott Guidelines and with the direction of management and revenue leadership.

 JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum BA or BS degree and 2 years of front desk and/or  reservations experience preferred
• Minimum lifting of 30 lbs.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and written effectively with guests and co-workers
• Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, upward reaching
• Some exposure to cleaning chemicals
• Prolonged periods of standing / walking and/or sitting
• Flexibility with work schedule to fit the business needs when necessary

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Ability to perform the Basics of Brilliant Hosting while delivering Marriott’s Core Values at all times
• Provide accurate reservations, run reports, set up group listings and comply with cancellation requests
• Build group blocks and provide assistance in blocking group reservations
• Inform guests about hotel services, directions, room rates, amenities and availability
• Communicate with guests and clients both verbally and via email regarding reservations, availability, and room blocks
• Work with the Sales department in providing guidance and information pertaining to the group bookings
• Create and maintain administrative records for all groups
• Able to work with MARSHA, CI/TY, FSPMS and other Marriott e-tools & other systems as necessary
• Resolve group booking issues/requests in a professional and effective manner
• Manage MARSHA “VRQ TABLE” to accurate provide all group and transient reservation with requested room types
• Handles group bookings, VIP’s, top accounts (determined by Management) and special guests, such as pre-registration, special attention and complimentary room requests, etc.
• Manage and update the information on our “Group Information Monitor”
• The Group Housing Coordinator is expected to complete, within his/her ability, all reasonable requests by management.
