Automation Controls Technician

Location: Georgetown, KY 40324 (40% travel)
Pay Rate: $30-$35/hour

Type of hire: 12-month contract with potential for extension
Travel: 40%; to Canada, Mexico, and possibly to Japan.

Position Responsibilities :

Use technical expertise in the development of machine installation and modification plans.
Prepare, troubleshoot, and confirm equipment at vendors and/or in PE lab, during project preparation, equipment runoff, and during the project installation phase with focused activity to ensure safety and quality compliance standards are met.
Perform online and offline PLC programming
Primary support to the company for auxiliary equipment (robot teaching, handling device adjustment) for new die introduction.
Periodic support to the company to investigate and countermeasure mass production problems
Support Controls members with equipment investigations, development of work instructions for upcoming project(s), support the company with production-related issues, and support breakdown issues.

Position Requirements :

Electronics & Controls Understanding
Press mechanics Understanding
Root cause analysis & c/m determination
Good communication skills to work in a team environment with internal and external customers.Fundamental knowledge of mechanics of materials.
Fundamental knowledge of tooling and machining.

Preferred Skills Include:

Robot programming
Pneumatic & Hydraulic Systems Understanding
2 year Technical Degree +1 year heavy equipment and/or press experience or 3 years heavy equipment and/or press experience
Ability to travel to support at other locations, domestic and international; 40% travel to other sites in USA, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Switzerland, etc.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as required to perform functions

REFERRAL BONUS PROGRAM:
