Description:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Activities Coordinator to join our research clinic team. As a Phase I Patient Concierge you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating recreational activities for inpatient participants of a clinical trial. Your primary goal will be to ensure the engagement and satisfaction of participants during their stay, while also meeting their physical, emotional, and social needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program for inpatient participants of the clinical trial.
  • Collaborate with the research team to understand the specific needs and limitations of the participants.
  • Plan and schedule a variety of recreational activities, including group exercises, arts and crafts, games, movie nights, and social events.
  • Ensure that the activities are suitable for the participants' age, physical abilities, and interests.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and professionals to provide specialized activities such as music therapy, pet therapy, and mindfulness sessions.
  • Maintain a calendar of activities and communicate the schedule to participants, ensuring their awareness and involvement.
  • Monitor participant engagement and satisfaction through regular feedback and observation.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes social interaction and emotional well-being.
  • Assist participants in accessing and utilizing recreational facilities within the clinic, such as outdoor areas, gymnasiums, or indoor game rooms.
  • Collaborate with the clinic's nutritionist to organize special events or workshops related to healthy eating habits.
  • Maintain inventory of activity supplies and equipment, ensuring their availability and proper usage.
  • Adhere to the clinic's safety protocols and guidelines when planning and organizing activities.
  • Document and report any participant concerns or incidents related to activities to the research team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of clinical trial protocols and the ability to adapt activities accordingly.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to plan and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with participants and build rapport.
  • Empathetic and patient-oriented approach to address the unique needs of inpatient participants.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including researchers, nurses, and support staff.
  • Creativity and resourcefulness to develop innovative and engaging activities for participants.
  • Basic understanding of healthcare safety guidelines and infection control practices.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, recreation therapy, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in coordinating recreational activities for diverse groups, preferably in a healthcare or clinical setting.
  • Preferred Bilingual (Spanish and English)
  • First Aid and CPR certification is desired.
