JOB SUMMARY
To assist the Dentist in Phase I Dentistry; restorative procedures (amalgam, composite fillings), assisting the Dentist with oral surgery and take x-rays when needed (panoramic, periapical and bitewings). Prepare proper tray set-ups, sterilize all instruments, and clean the operatory after each patient, and stock operatory with supplies. Documentation in patient charts as well as reviewing and updating medical and dental history, giving post-operative instructions and oral hygiene instructions when needed. Communicate referrals to patients and other facilities and manage questions, patient concerns, and information on medication refills. Help the patient feel at ease and explain the procedures being performed. Since work is performed around blood, saliva and other health diseases, special care is needed to sterilize instruments and follow universal precautions.

- High School Diploma/GED AND
- Minimum one (1) years experience in assisting.
- Certificate of completion issued for the Radiation Safety/Techniques Course.

- Two-handed restorative dentistry: Amalgam, glass ionomer, and composite materials, Anterior and posterior restorations, Class I, II, III, IV, V
- Oral surgery assisting
