Customer Service Representative Bilingual

JOB SUMMARY

Services primarily walk-in customers by providing prompt, efficient order taking, preparation and delivery of carry-on products by applying technical knowledge to satisfy customer needs. Assists in preparation and packaging of Delivery Orders and in restocking the shelves with incoming products. Completes transactions in a courteous manner with excellent recordkeeping to insure a pleasant customer experience. The employee must be helpful, congenial, and always reflect professionalism.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Receives and responds to inquiries from walk-in customers. Determines types, quantity and quality of merchandise required and enters orders as need.
• Prepares sales or returns orders with all the appropriate information and strictly follows all applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
• Verifies customer information, credit status, job information and valid representation of the person picking up materials to assure correct preparation of sales orders and subsequent payment.
• Accurately prepares orders for both, walk-in and deliveries, and may assist in loading of customer orders.
• Coordinates with Yard and Shipping personnel in connection with pick-ups of yard materials and occasional deliveries of products for sales originated at the counter.
• Receives and processes COD payments (cash, checks and credit cards).
• Carefully carries out and completely documents the inspection of incoming products that are returned at the counter.
• Restocks and maintains warehouse shelves filled and in excellent order.
• Complies with policies and procedures as to Counter Sales and every action performed.
• Makes careful use of equipment and supplies needed for efficient counter operations.
• Strictly follows Safety Rules and Guidelines.
• Performs other duties and tasks assigned by management from time to time.

• Maintains knowledge about all products.
• Reports any and all out-of-line conditions affecting customer satisfaction at the counter to his/her supervisor.
• Maintains surrounding work area in safe, clean condition. The relevant area which includes the counter side shipping dock, green shelves, walkways and packaging cages, counter and shelf areas are to be neat, orderly and well stocked.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works at the counter and deals with customers in a daily basis. It involves standing for long periods of time. The job requires bending, lifting heavy weights and boxes, and climbing on ladders. Operates warehouse equipment and is exposed to dirt and dust from shelves and products. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent communication and customer service skills are required.
• Self-motivated, positive attitude, and dynamic personality.
• General knowledge of distribution counter sales operations.
• Strong verbal and written skills.
• High School graduate with one-year experience in counter sales.
• Minimum of 2 years industry related experience preferred (Pipes, Valves and Fittings).
