Paralegal

Our client is looking for an experienced paralegal. Experience with Civil and Criminal law in the state of Florida.

Location: Orlando, FL

Rate: $45,000 - $52,000 Yearly

Hours: Office Hours Mon - Fri from 8 am - 5 pm

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Responsibilities include various clerical and administrative tasks, reviewing civil paperwork in cases set for hearing; maintaining statistics, setting hearings, preparing dockets, and working closely with the civil division judges, their assistants, case management staff and other court personnel.

Candidates must be proficient using computers and Microsoft Word and able to generate multiple documents for mailing. Attention to detail is important.

This position requires basic knowledge of the legal system, civil court processes and procedures and the following skills and abilities:

• Analyze court files for completeness of appropriate legal documentation and the ability to move cases through the court process;
• Work independently, as well as with a team;
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing;
• Establish work priorities;
• Appropriately work with litigants who are under the stress inherent in civil legal conflicts;
• Understand the limitations of services of case management and what constitutes the unauthorized practice of law; and
• Maintain confidentiality concerning sensitive issues before the court.

Qualifications

Two years of related case management or administrative, clerical or word processing experience is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required.

Requirements:

• 3 years of experience as a paralegal.
• Bilingual (English and Spanish).
• Experience with MS Office suite.
• WC experience preferred, but not required.
