Job Description

Paramedic

Within this position an employee works independently in providing a high level of emergency care by responding to emergency calls for a variety of illnesses and injuries. Performs basic and advanced life support, stabilization procedures and emergency medical care at the paramedic level of training and certification, in accordance with all rules and regulations set forth by the Virginia Office of EMS. Operating and maintaining agency apparatuses and equipment with due regard, pursuant to the Code of Virginia and regulatory requirements; assisting in the routine maintenance and inspection of agency apparatus, facilities, and equipment.

Other job duties:

Performs similar, less skilled tasks, assist supervisory and billing staff in timely reports, collecting data and submitting for billing; perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Must possess a valid Virginia Paramedic certification, CPR, ACLS and PALS.

Must be able to submit to preemployment drug screen, national background check, and state driving record check.
