Marketing Coordinator, Events

THE LOCATION

Hybrid work model – mostly remote home-based with some office workdays in Houston office or Richardson (Dallas area) office

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Society of Petroleum Engineers is looking for a data-driven Marketing Specialist with a passion for events to join our growing marketing team. You will be responsible for the planning and execution of SPE’s marketing campaigns to attract global audiences to attend our technical events held in the Americas. As a Marketer, you translate business goals into successful marketing campaigns across multiple channels (paid and owned). You track the performance of campaigns and optimize them while actively engaging with the business and its stakeholders. You execute marketing plans from concept to completion and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure Americas events are effectively promoted and campaigns are successfully executed.

As a member of a growing, global in-house marketing team, you will develop engaging campaigns to target and attract specific audiences while meeting key marketing initiatives. You are a pro at managing projects, communicating value, delivering on deadlines, and providing high-quality assurance on all campaign-related deliverables. The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is the largest individual-member organization serving managers, engineers, scientists, and other professionals worldwide in the upstream segment of the oil and gas industry. SPE is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization with members and operations around the world.


THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE IN THIS ROLE

  • Developing and executing effective marketing plans across multiple channels and platforms for events in the Americas (owned and paid) - using project management skills, obtaining project owner approvals, working across teams, and managing budgets
  • Establishing strong relationships across global departments and developing an understanding of internal needs, the customer experience, marketing strategy and operational capabilities to serve as a strategic cross department partner
  • Collaborating with the events team and program committees to understand our target audience and produce value-led content
  • Working with Marketing Manager, internal team members, vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to review brand consistency and create marketing/sales materials across a variety of mediums including emails, landing pages, digital ads, flyers, brochures, websites, presentations, social media posts, mobile app and other internal and external marketing pieces
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams and vendors to set up paid social media and Google ad campaigns from start to finish
  • Resourcing and overseeing marketing deliverables by coordinating with team, prioritizing, and assigning deadlines on a weekly basis while providing regular updates on progress
  • Tracking ROI on marketing campaigns, evaluating performance and creating reports to recommend future actions or optimizations

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree, Certification or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 1-3 years in a similar marketing-related role, with an emphasis on digital content development
  • 1-3 years building paid social media campaigns and Google Adwords
  • Traditional and digital marketing tools
  • Digital marketing automation software and content management systems
  • Project management tools
  • Event marketing, ideally with large scale events
  • Supporting B2B and B2C campaigns in owned and paid channels
  • Managing multiple stakeholders at all levels to drive desired outcome
