Certified Public Accountant

Schain and Company, a medium-sized, well-established New Paltz firm, with over 40 years of tax and accounting experience, is searching for an experienced CPA to add to our team.  This is a Senior Accountant position geared toward advancement, with the goal of eventual assumption of an equity position in the practice.  It is a unique opportunity for a CPA looking to move into a leadership role, or a current executive partner interested in taking the helm of a sole proprietorship.

Requirements:  

• Current CPA licensure 

• Minimum of 5 years of personal and corporate tax and accounting experience    

• Minimum of a BA in Accounting; Masters in Taxation a plus 

• Familiarity with federal and state tax laws 

• Proficiency (or at least familiarity) with Thomson Reuters Creative Solutions suite, especially UltraTax 

• Proficiency with QuickBooks 

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite 

• Experience with Trusts, Estates, and Non-Profits a plus 

• Energetic, flexible, collaborative, with great attention to detail and a strong work ethic
