Instructional Designer

Summary
The instructional designer works with managers and other staff to assist and consult in developing training courses and overseeing the support of course management systems, instructional technology, and best practices of educational pedagogy.
Areas of responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Advises, assists, and trains employees in developing and designing training courses, redesigns course content, integrates media technologies into traditional course content, and converts new or existing course content into online formats.
- Recommends appropriate use of technology to meet instructional objectives.
- Provides technical assistance to employees using and maintaining online learning modules, including multi-media components and online course templates.
- Maintains and updates instructional and design best practices and course review information for the company's training programs.
- Provides related support services for instructional resources, troubleshoots, and resolves related technology and system access issues and other related training support.
- Works with the company's learning management system provider and the Information Technology department to ensure employees are supported for the training.
- Works collaboratively with other departments to promote successor training.
- May provide supervision, training, and work direction for employees and short-term, temporary workers.
- Uses project management systems to monitor, update, and report on the status of ongoing projects.
- Tracks training projects' progress and ensures adherence to deadlines and milestones.
Education, Skills, Experience, and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Development or related field and 5+ years of related experience
- Teamwork, multi-tasking, and leadership skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Physical demands may include but are not limited to:
Moderate walking, standing, and/or climbing; light lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
