Chesapeake Healthcare Center (CHC) is looking to hire a full time (35-40 hours/week) NP Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority (DEA license) and an independent practice license in the state of WV. The Nurse Practitioner (NP), also known as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, plays a crucial role in CHC's integrated healthcare team. Their responsibilities encompass patient care, diagnosis, and treatment.
Nurse Practitioner job description:
Primary Care Provision:
- At CHC, NPs provide integrated primary and behavioral health care to adult patients.
- They conduct initial examinations, including physical assessments and patient observations.
- NPs set up and monitor medical equipment.
- They order and administer diagnostic tests, review lab work, etc.
- Communication of test results to patients and their families is part of their role.
- Recording patient medical histories is essential.
Specialization and Scope:
- CHC is looking for an NP that also has experience as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (with training in behavioral health)
- Regardless of specialization, NPs perform the general duties mentioned above.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) collaborates with the other Providers as part of a comprehensive treatment team. Their responsibilities include assessing, managing, prescribing, and directing patient care.
Practitioner Requirements:
- Experience with addiction medicine preferred.
- Degree from an accredited nursing program.
- Must have RN licensure in the state of WV and be board certified as APRN
- Knowledge of computer-based data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and point-of-interview technology.
- Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, with retail and medical partners at various levels, patients, family members, physicians and representatives of the community.
- Sound understanding of all federal and state regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Experience providing primary and behavioral care as a family nurse practitioner.
- Knowledge of disease prevention.
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $124,800 - $135,200.00 per year base with added fringe valued at 30% of compensation base.
Expected hours: 36-40 hours per week- can accommodate flexible schedule by offering 8- or 10-hour shifts M-F NO WEEKENDS. NO CALL.
