POSITION OVERVIEW

NBME is recruiting for a Program Manager (Community Collaborations and Contributions) who will be responsible for managing and administering the efforts of the Community Collaboration and Contributions (C3) grantmaking portfolio which includes Stemmler Grants, the Emerging Innovators Grants Program, Latin America Grants and planned NBME Pathway Program Grants. This Program Manager will support the Director and other C3 staff in execution of strategy and data development for these projects in alignment with NBME's goals and strategy. Strong candidates for the position will have an understanding of the medical education environment, philanthropy principles, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles.

This position is remote eligible in the following states: PA, NJ, DE, MD, and VA

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversight of grant programs: including preparation and monitoring of timelines , program budget management, attending review/funding meetings and assuring adherence to the charter and C3 strategy and goals
  • Providing oversight of grants management process, including management of LOI process, organizing and distributing LOI review assignments, assisting with recruiting and training reviewers and resolving escalated issues that arise from applicants or recipients
  • Assuring overall program quality, including measurement of impact and outcomes, program evaluation, and implementation of data-informed program improvements
  • Engaging key external stakeholders to troubleshoot questions about contract and research issues
  • Identifying ways to amplify the program and recipients
  • Managing grants steering and review committees including: liaising with committee chairs to coordinate the vetting/funding decision meetings and attaining programmatic goals; supporting or co-leading the meetings; preparing for meetings (including agenda planning, organizing and formatting review data for distribution, creating/implementing the voting/ranking system and approach to decision making)
  • Assisting with creation of grants program communications

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and Abilities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Experience with program budgeting.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • High level of organization.
  • Highly collaborative.
  • Proficient - Advanced skillset in Excel and PowerPoint desired.

Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in strategic or research Program Management.
  • Experience managing program budgets.
  • Experience in strategic planning and leading, planning, and executing projects.
  • Familiarity with philanthropy and diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and practices desired, but not required.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of equivalent education and experience
